Konsep Good governance merupakan suatu urgensitas dalam upaya mewujudkan pemerintahan daerah yang efektif, efesien, dan mandiri sebagai upaya melakukan percepatan pembangunan salah satunya yaitu di bidang kesehatan yang berkaitan dengan target Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) 2015. Dinas Kesehatan Kabupaten Tangerang dalam upaya mengimplementasikan prinsip-prinsip good governance, dihadapkan oleh beberapa masalah, seperti belum optimalnya kinerja, kurangnya transparansi dan akuntabilitas, berbelitnya birokrasi, rendahnya partisipasi masyarakat dan sektor swasta serta masih terdapat kesenjangan dari ketiga pilar governance. Oleh karenanya, fokus penelitian ini adalah implementasi prinsip-prinsip good governance di Dinas Kesehatan Kabupaten Tangerang. Tujuannya yaitu untuk mengetahui bagaimana implementasi prinsip-prinsip good governance di Dinas Kesehatan Kabupaten Tangerang. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu kualitatif deskriptif yang dianalisis dengan menggunakan teori dimensi good governance menurut Kaufman, Kraay & Mastruzzi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan belum optimalnya implementasi prinsip-prinsip good governance di Dinas Kesehatan Kabupaten Tangerang karena empat dari enam dimensi good governance menurut Kaufman, Kraay & Mastruzzi belum diterapkan secara maksimal, diantaranya Voice and Accountability, Government Effectiveness, Regulatory Quality, dan Control of Corruption. Saran peneliti agar implementasi prinsip-prinsip good governance di Dinas Kesehatan Kabupaten Tangerang lebih optimal adalah dengan memaksimalkan peran dari masing-masing pilar governance dan seluruh stakeholders dengan meningkatkan kerjasama dan komitmen bersama untuk peduli akan pentingnya peningkatan kesehatan ibu dan anak. The concept of good governance is an urgency in order to achieve the local government that is effective, efficient, and independent as an effort to accelerate the development in health sector. The Health Departemen of Tangerang Regency in an attempt to implementing good governance principles faced by several problems, such as the achievement of work that is not optimal, lack of transparency and accountability, a convoluted bureaucracy, public and private sector participation is low, and there are gaps of the three pillars of governance. Therefore, the focus of this research is implementation of good governance principles in The Health Departement of Tangerang Regency. The purpose on this research is, how The Health Departement of Tangerang Regency implementing good governance principles is. The methods that used on this research is qualitative descriptive which analyzed by good governance dimensions theory of Kaufman, Kraay, & Mastruzzi. The research result showed that The Health Departement of Tangerang Regency is not optimal to implementing good governance principles because four of six good governance dimension theory of Kaufman, Kraay & Mastruzzi has not been implemented maximally, including Voice and Accountability, Government Effectiveness, Regulatory Quality, dan Control of Corruption. Recommendation from this research are The Health Departement of Tangerang Regency in implementing good governance principles to be more optimal is maximizing the role of each pillar of governance and the whole of stakeholders by improving the cooperation and a shared commitment to take care the development in maternal and child health.
