description: This research was conducted because of the finding of students’ low skills in  writing anecdotal text. So, it was necessary to find alternative learning that can  improve those skills. Alternative learning which can be applied is using comic  strip learning media. The aim of this research was to find the influence of using  comic strip learning media and conventional learning media toward students’ skill  in writing anecdotal text. This research was conducted at SMA N 1 Bayah. Two  classes which were used as samples, the first was X MIPA 4 as an experiment  class that has 25 students, and the second was X MIPA 1 as a control class with  25 students. The total of samples was 50 students. The research used experiment  method with posttest-only control design. Data collecting techniques which used  in this experiment was writing anecdotal text tests. Data analysis techniques used  in this research are normality test using Chi-kudrat test   2  (X  ), homogeneity test  using Fisher formula, and significance test using t-test formula. The conclusion of  this research is that the comic strip learning media has influences on students’  skill in writing anecdotal text in X MIPA 4 at SMA N 1 Bayah in learning Year  2017/2018. This can be proven from the highest score in the experiment class was  95, while the highest score in the control class was only 72. The lowest score in  the experiment class was 61, while the lowest score in the control class was 45.  The average score in the experiment class was 76,96 while in the control class  was 59,92. KKM for Bahasa Indonesia subject in SMA N 1 Bayah is 70. So, it  means that the experiment class which using comic strip learning media has  fulfilled the KKM with the average score 76,96, and for control class using  conventional media has not fulfilled the KKM because the average score is only  68,25.
