This study aims to analyze the influence of Total Government Expenditure (TGS), Government Capital Expenditure (CGS), Government Operational Expenditure (OGS), and Population Density (PD) on macroeconomic performance across regions in Indonesia, including economic growth, poverty, unemployment, income inequality, and the Human Development Index (HDI). The study employs panel data estimation using the Generalized Method of Moments (GMM) over a specific period. The results reveal that government operational expenditure (OGS) has a positive and significant impact on economic growth, while total government expenditure (TGS) surprisingly exerts a significant negative effect. Regarding poverty, both capital expenditure (CGS) and operational expenditure (OGS) significantly reduce poverty levels, consistent with expectations, in contrast to the positive effect of TGS that contradicts the hypothesis. For unemployment, capital (CGS) and operational expenditures (OGS) unexpectedly contribute positively and significantly, contrary to the hypothesis, whereas TGS reduces unemployment as anticipated. Income inequality significantly decreases with increased capital expenditure (CGS), with other variables showing no significant effects. Population density (PD) positively affects unemployment and HDI. Overall, government capital expenditure proves effective in promoting economic growth and reducing poverty and inequality, but total and operational expenditures require policy evaluation to enhance their effectiveness in human development and unemployment reduction. Optimizing government expenditure allocation is imperative to achieve more inclusive and sustainable development. date: 2025 date_type: published pages: 150 institution: UNIVERSITAS SULTAN AGENG TIRTAYASA department: MAGISTER EKONOMI thesis_type: masters thesis_name: mphil citation: Hanief, Wildan (2025) KEBIJAKAN STRUKTURAL PENGELUARAN PEMERINTAH (GOVERNMENT SPENDING) DAN PERFORMA MAKRO EKONOMI WILAYAH DI INDONESIA.
