This activity involves not only physical aspects but is also influenced by psychological factors, particularly the hikers' motivation in undertaking the climb. This study aims to determine the motivating factors for hikers climbing Mount Karang via the Desa Sukarena route, viewed from the aspects of recreational sports, natural beauty, and local culture. This study is expected to serve as a foundation for management in developing Mount Karang as a sports tourism destination and contribute to its management and development efforts. This study employs a quantitative approach with a descriptive analysis method. The sample consisted of 91 respondents who were hikers on Mount Karang via the Desa Sukarena route, selected using the purposive sampling technique. Data collection was conducted from December 10 to 14, 2025. The research instrument used was a closed questionnaire with a five-point Likert scale, structured based on three hiking motivation indicators. The results indicated that the overall motivation level for climbing Mount Karang was in the "Very High" category, with the average value of each indicator consistently exceeding 80%. Whether in the aspects of (1) satisfaction and recreation, (2) enjoying nature, or (3) new experiences and culture, all fell into the very high category. This demonstrates that hikers possess a strong comprehensive internal drive, encompassing physical, psychological, and environmental aspects in undertaking the climb on the Sukarena route.</mods:abstract><mods:classification authority="lcc">Q Science (General)</mods:classification><mods:classification authority="lcc">QP Physiology</mods:classification><mods:originInfo><mods:dateIssued encoding="iso8061">2026-04-23</mods:dateIssued></mods:originInfo><mods:originInfo><mods:publisher>UNIVERSITAS SULTAN AGENG TIRTAYASA;ILMU KEOLAHRAGAAN</mods:publisher></mods:originInfo><mods:genre>Thesis</mods:genre></mods:mods>
