The problem in the spare part warehouse at PT Krakatau Bandar Samudera is the storage arrangement that does not consider item movement frequency, resulting in inefficient picking travel distance. This study aims to develop a mathematical model using the Dedicated Storage method with a Mixed Integer Linear Programming (MILP) approach to optimize storage allocation. The model considers item movement frequency, distance of storage slots to input/output points, and space requirements, with the objective of minimizing total travel distance. The optimization results using LINGO 22.0 show a reduction in travel distance from 16,811.747 meters to 6,832.71 meters (59.358%) and an increase in empty slots from 133 to 299 slots (56.518%). These results indicate that the implementation of the Dedicated Storage method significantly improves warehouse operational efficiency.
