PT XYZ still faces challenges related to production efficiency and sustainability, as indicated by a defect rate of 4 to 5%, which exceeds the company’s target of 2%, process time inefficiencies, suboptimal resource utilization, and the occurrence of workplace accidents. These conditions indicate a gap between the current performance and an efficient and sustainable production state. This study aims to evaluate sustainability efficiency in the economic, environmental, and social dimensions, identify the causes of waste, and develop improvement proposals using the Sustainable Value Stream Mapping (Sus-VSM) approach. The research was conducted on refined sugar products R1 and R2 using data from August to October 2025 obtained through observation, interviews, and brainstorming. The analysis was carried out using Sus-VSM, Process Activity Mapping, Fishbone Diagram, and the 5W+1H method. The results show that the Value Added Time increased from 82% to 87% for product R1 and from 79% to 84% for product R2. The defect rate also decreased from 4 to 5% to 2%. These improvements were achieved through the elimination of non-value-added activities, particularly waiting time and re-cleaning processes. The findings demonstrate that Sus-VSM is effective in improving efficiency and sustainability performance and can serve as a basis for continuous production process improvement.HD28 Management.
