      "abstract": "Rice husks are a material that is still considered waste and its use is still small. It is hoped that the use of husks can be a substitute for wood, which still dominates the manufacture of particle boards. Particleboard made from husks can be a substitute for wood where demand for wood on the market is still quite high. The substitution of wood with particle board is expected to reduce the high use of wood for structural and non-structural needs. This research was conducted to find out the correct optimization of curing parameters so that particle board made from rice husks becomes the right choice as an alternative to particle board made from wood. The research was carried out by finding out the mechanical and physical properties of particle board made from rice husks with different curing parameters. The curing parameters used are temperatures of 70 and 150 degrees Celsius and times of 1 and 3 hours. The specimens were tested via FTIR test, physical tests in the form of density and thickness expansion, as well as mechanical tests in the form of flexibility and hardness. The research results show that curing parameters have a large influence on the mechanical and physical properties of particle board. In physical testing, it can be seen in water absorption testing that specimens cured for a longer time have better dimensional stability. The hardness test shows that increasing the curing temperature reduces the hardness value of the board, while the bending test results show that the flexural strength increases at high temperatures, but decreases at too long a curing time. The highest flexural modulus and strain were obtained in specimens cured at 70 °C for 3 hours, indicating more ductile and elastic material properties.",

      "note": "Sekam padi adalah salah satu material yang masih dianggap sebagai limbah dan pemanfaatannya masih sedikit. Penggunaan sekam diharapkan dapat menjadi bahan pengganti kayu yang sampai sekarang masih mendominasi pembuatan papan partikel. Papan partikel yang dibuat dari sekam dapat menjadi substitusi kayu dimana permintaan kayu di pasaran masih cukup tinggi. Adanya substitusi kayu dengan papan partikel diharapkan dapat mengurangi tingginya penggunaan kayu untuk kebutuhan struktur dan non struktur. Penelitian ini dilakukan guna mencari tahu optimasi parameter curing yang tepat agar papan partikel berbahan dasar sekam padi menjadi pilihan yang tepat sebagai alternatif papan partikel berbahan dasar kayu. Penelitian dilakukan dengan mencari tahu sifat mekanis dan fisik papan partikel berbahan dasar sekam padi dengan parameter curing yang berbeda-beda. Parameter curing yang dipakai adalah suhu 70 dan 150 derajat celsius serta waktu selama 1 dan 3 jam. Spesimen di tes melalui Uji FTIR, uji fisik berupa densitas dan pengembangan tebal, serta uji mekanik berupa kelenturan dan kekerasan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan parameter curing memiliki pengaruh besar pada sifat mekanik dan fisik papan partikel. Pada pengujian  fisik, dapat dilihat dalam pengujian serapan air bahwa spesimen yang dicuring dengan waktu lebih lama memiliki kestabilan dimensi yang lebih baik. Uji kekerasan menunjukkan bahwa peningkatan suhu curing menurunkan nilai kekerasan papan, sedangkan hasil uji bending menunjukkan bahwa kuat lentur meningkat pada suhu tinggi, tetapi menurun pada waktu curing yang terlalu lama. Modulus lentur dan regangan tertinggi diperoleh pada spesimen yang dicuring pada suhu 70 °C selama 3 jam, yang menunjukkan sifat material yang lebih ulet dan elastis.",
