The evaluation was conducted through three main parameters: chemical functional group analysis using Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR), thermal stability using Thermogravimetric Analysis (TGA), and quantification of filter saturation levels through Red, Green, Blue (RGB) color analysis. FTIR results showed changes in the chemical structure of the filter after use, with the number of functional groups increasing from 8 in the initial sample to 14 in the exposed sample, indicating trapped pollutants. TGA analysis revealed that the cellulose filter is stable within the temperature range of 30 – 110 °C and begins to undergo thermal degradation above 110 °C, with the most significant mass reduction occurring at 200 °C. Meanwhile, RGB analysis using ImageJ software demonstrated a decrease in brightness intensity values in the intensity (weighted) channel as the duration of use increased (5, 10, and 15 minutes), reflecting the accumulation of carbon particulates or soot on the filter surface. This study concludes that cellulose filters are effective in capturing pollutants but have operational limitations at high temperatures.
