description: The rapid growth of social media in the digital era has increased security risks in login systems due to automated attacks in the form of bots, which can lead to account misuse and data breaches. CAPTCHA is commonly used as an additional security mechanism to distinguish human users from automated programs; however, its effectiveness needs to be evaluated, particularly for users with non-visual disabilities. This study aims to analyze the improvement in security of a simulated social media login system after the implementation of CAPTCHA and to evaluate the effectiveness of Google reCAPTCHA, image-based CAPTCHA, and arithmetic CAPTCHA in preventing automated access. The research adopts an applied research approach using the Waterfall development model. Data were collected through simple bot testing, user questionnaires, and measurements of CAPTCHA completion time, which were analyzed using descriptive statistics. The results show that in the login system without CAPTCHA, all bot login attempts were successful, whereas after the implementation of CAPTCHA, all bot login attempts failed. In addition, most respondents were able to complete the CAPTCHA within a relatively short time. These findings indicate that the implementation of CAPTCHA enhances the security level of simulated social media login systems and can be used as an additional security mechanism.
