%X This research aims to analyze the role of agricultural extension workers in improving the capacity of farmer groups in Caringin Village, Legok District, Tangerang Regency. This study uses a quantitative descriptive approach with a survey method involving 85 farmer respondents from five farmer groups. The variables studied include internal factors (age, formal education, non-formal education, and farming experience) and external factors (interaction with extension workers, government support, and farmers’ knowledge) that influence the role of agricultural extension and the capacity of farmer groups. The results show that the role of agricultural extension workers in Caringin Village is categorized as moderate, including their roles as advisors, organizers, motivators, consultants, and facilitators. The capacity of farmer groups is also in the moderate category, assessed through aspects such as goal achievement, functions and roles, innovativeness, sustainability, and improvement of members’ abilities. Internal factors have a direct influence on the role of extension workers, while external factors indirectly affect the improvement of farmer group capacity through the mediation of the extension workers’ role. This research is expected to provide useful information for stakeholders to enhance the effectiveness of agricultural extension services and strengthen farmer groups’ institutional capacity.
%Z Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis peran penyuluh pertanian dalam meningkatkan kapasitas kelompok tani di Desa Caringin, Kecamatan Legok, Kabupaten Tangerang. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kuantitatif dengan metode survei yang melibatkan 85 responden tani dari lima kelompok tani. Variabel yang diteliti meliputi faktor internal (umur, pendidikan formal, pendidikan non-formal, dan pengalaman bertani) dan faktor eksternal (interaksi dengan penyuluh pertanian, dukungan pemerintah, dan pengetahuan tani) yang mempengaruhi peran penyuluh pertanian dan kapasitas kelompok tani. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa peran penyuluh pertanian di Desa Caringin dikategorikan moderat, termasuk peran mereka sebagai penasihat, penyelenggara, motivator, konsultan, dan fasilitator. Kapasitas kelompok tani juga berada dalam kategori moderat, dinilai melalui aspek-aspek seperti pencapaian tujuan, fungsi dan peran, inovasi, keberlanjutan, dan peningkatan kemampuan anggota. Faktor internal berpengaruh langsung terhadap peran penyuluh pertanian, sedangkan faktor eksternal secara tidak langsung mempengaruhi peningkatan kapasitas kelompok tani melalui mediasi peran penyuluh pertanian. Penelitian ini diharapkan dapat memberikan informasi yang bermanfaat bagi para pemangku kepentingan untuk meningkatkan efektivitas layanan penyuluhan pertanian dan memperkuat kapasitas kelembagaan kelompok tani.
