description: This research aims to analyze the role of agricultural extension workers in improving the capacity of farmer groups in Caringin Village, Legok District, Tangerang Regency. This study uses a quantitative descriptive approach with a survey method involving 85 farmer respondents from five farmer groups. The variables studied include internal factors (age, formal education, non-formal education, and farming experience) and external factors (interaction with extension workers, government support, and farmers’ knowledge) that influence the role of agricultural extension and the capacity of farmer groups. The results show that the role of agricultural extension workers in Caringin Village is categorized as moderate, including their roles as advisors, organizers, motivators, consultants, and facilitators. The capacity of farmer groups is also in the moderate category, assessed through aspects such as goal achievement, functions and roles, innovativeness, sustainability, and improvement of members’ abilities. Internal factors have a direct influence on the role of extension workers, while external factors indirectly affect the improvement of farmer group capacity through the mediation of the extension workers’ role. This research is expected to provide useful information for stakeholders to enhance the effectiveness of agricultural extension services and strengthen farmer groups’ institutional capacity.
