Beneng taro stems have cellulose fibers that can improve the quality of biofoam. This study aims to determine the effect of temperature and time of alkali pretreatment on the lignocellulose content in Beneng taro stems as cellulose fibers through 3 stages of the process, namely pretreatment, delignification, and bleaching and continued with testing the lignocellulose content. The pretreatment process was carried out using 1% NaOH alkali solvent with operating variables in the form of temperatures of 60°C, 70°C, and 80°C and times of 60, 90, and 120 minutes. The delignification process was carried out using 20% Na2SO3 and 2% H2O2 as bleaching agents. From the results of the lignocellulose content analysis, the pretreatment that produced the largest cellulose yield occurred at an operating temperature of 60°C for 120 minutes, amounting to 54%."^^<http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema#string> .
