EPrints Repository UNTIRTAANALISIS KESIAPAN IMPLEMENTASI TEACHING FACTORY KONSENTRASI TEKNIK PEMESINAN DI SMK KOTA SERANGNURHOLISOHNURHOLISOHauthorTeaching Factory (Tefa) is a production-based learning model that integrates industrial standards and work culture into vocational high school learning to enhance the relevance of graduates’ competencies. However, the implementation of Teaching Factory in the Machining Engineering concentration at vocational high schools in Kota Serang has not been fully realized. This study aims to analyze the readiness and obstacles in implementing Teaching Factory in vocational high schools in Kota Serang. The research employed a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation at SMKN 2 Kota Serang and SMK PGRI 1 Kota Serang, involving informants such as the head of the study program, vice principals for curriculum, industry relations, and facilities and infrastructure, as well as twelfth-grade students of Machining Engineering. Data were analyzed using NVivo 12 through coding, categorization, and thematic mapping, followed by drawing conclusions based on field findings reviewed according to the stages of Teaching Factory implementation. The results indicate that initial readiness has been established in the stages of socialization, organization, and learning implementation, as reflected in the existing general organizational structure, leadership support, practical activities producing tangible products, and the availability of teachers and workshop facilities. However, Teaching Factory has not yet been integrated into a comprehensive and sustainable system. The obstacles include the absence of a specific organizational structure and internal regulations for Teaching Factory, limited evaluation mechanisms, restricted socialization, weak promotion and industry partnerships, limited competence and number of human resources, inadequate facilities and practice materials, simulation-based learning patterns, and production capacity and quality that have not yet met industrial standards.
