description: ABSTRACT    Murder with ordinary motives usually eliminate the victim's life only, while the crime of mutilation followed by the act of cutting parts there are 2 (two) kinds of mutilation on the victim's life and mutilation on the victim's corpse. Mutilation is an act of murder in which the perpetrator dismembers the victim's body parts and then discards them. Related to the state of criminal rules mutilation is the act of permanently cutting or destroying parts of organs, especially vital ones. This study aims to examine how the perspective of Criminology in looking at the perpetrators of murder accompanied by mutilation committed by perpetrators in conditions of mental disorders and to assess how criminal liability for perpetrators of murder accompanied by mutilation who are mentally impaired. The research method used is normative legal research with statute approach and conceptual approach. The results of the study are, first: in the case of murder with mutilation committed by the perpetrator who has a mental disorder, mutilation can be related to several purposes, among others, to eliminate evidence, complicate the process of identifying victims, as well as a form of uncontrolled emotional expression fthe factors behind the occurrence of the crime can come from internal factors and external factors. Second: criminal liability for perpetrators of murder accompanied by mutilation in conditions of mental disorder refers to the provisions of Article 44 of the Criminal Code (KUHP).
