Artificial intelligence technology designed to imitate human activities has become a source of concern for society. This is because artificial intelligence has the ability to perform legal actions or behaviors similar to humans, including criminal activities.   The legal status of artificial intelligence is not explicitly regulated in Indonesian criminal law, which creates legal uncertainty if criminal acts involving artificial intelligence occur. Currently, Indonesia has the Electronic Information and   Transactions Law (UU ITE) related to technology regulation. The research problem in this study is how Electronic Information and Transactions Law (UU ITE) sanctions artificial intelligence as a cybercrime and the implications of artificial intelligence use in cybercriminal activities. The legal enforcement theory and criminal theory are used in this research. The research methods employed are normative juridical and field research. The findings indicate that cybercrimes caused by artificial intelligence are currently regulated under Electronic Information and Transactions Law (UU ITE), although it does not explicitly address artificial intelligence. Sanctions are based on the modus operandi used by the perpetrators. Additionally, artificial intelligence, while bringing positive impacts to human life, also has negative consequences, including potential involvement in cybercrimes. In conclusion, Electronic Information and   Transactions Law (UU ITE) is still insufficient in regulating artificial intelligence. The government should establish specific regulations regarding AI and implement effective preventive measures to address potential criminal activities related to artificial intelligence.
