"This thesis focuses on the social construction within the Nihon Suki Kyoukai community. The purpose of this study is to analyze and describe the process of social construction that occurs in the Nihon Suki Kyoukai community. \r\nThis research employs a case study method with a qualitative approach. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The data analysis technique used is the interactive model of Miles and Huberman, which consists of data collection, data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The theoretical framework applied in this study is Peter L. Berger and Thomas Luckmann’s Social Construction Theory. The informants in this research include active members of the Nihon Suki Kyoukai community, community administrators for the 2024–2025 period, and former active members of Nihon Suki Kyoukai.\r\nThe results of this study indicate that there are two forms of social construction experienced by otaku within the Nihon Suki Kyoukai community, namely closed otaku and open otaku, depending on the processes of externalization, objectivation, and internalization. The externalization of closed otaku tends to involve social withdrawal, and their participation in the Nishikai community is influenced by \r\nsituational factors. In contrast, open otaku are more active and join Nishikai based on personal interests and hobbies.\r\nIn the objectivation process, closed otaku perceive makrab activities and division pins as community symbols and objectify community figures based on emotional closeness. Their involvement in the community is relatively limited to \r\nbeing active members. Conversely, open otaku regard events as the main symbol of the community and objectify figures based on leadership qualities. Their level of participation is higher, both as active members and committee members. At the internalization stage, closed otaku internalize community values through makrab moments and events, which contribute to improved communication skills and time management. Meanwhile, open otaku internalize these values through active involvement in events, which not only enhances communication skills and time management but also shapes better self-presentation. These results show that the social construction process in the Nishikai community, both closed otaku and open otaku, does not depict otaku as negative, such as closed, antisocial and deviant.\r\nKeywords: Social Construction, Community, Otaku."^^ .
