%T PERSEPSI PETANI PADI TERHADAP KOPERASI SEBAGAI KELEMBAGAAN PERTANIAN (KASUS KECAMATAN WALANTAKA, KOTA SERANG - BANTEN)

%X One of the things that supports farmers’ needs is cooperatives. In 2023, there were 28 cooperatives in Walantaka Subdistrict. But only three of them were active saving and loan cooperatives. This show that there’s been a loss of institutional support for agriculture in the form of cooperatives in the area. This situation provides an opportunity to conduct research aimed at determining (1) rice farmers’ perceptions of cooperatives as agricultural institutions and (2) differences in farmers’ perceptions of cooperatives based on their selected characteristics (Case Study of Walantaka Subdistrict, Serang City – Banten). The research method used quantitative descriptive analysis using the chi-square test. Primary data were collected using questionnaires with a sample size of 295 respondents selected using simple random sampling. The results showed that cooperatives were perceived as good agricultural institutions by more respondents, although there were still quite a number of respondents with less favorable perceptions. The slight difference show that the research results are dominated by positive perceptions, althought they are not strong enough to guarantee the success of cooperatives without socialization and assistance interventions. Meanwhile, the result of the chi-square test analysis show that rice farmers’ perceptions of cooperatives based on three selected characteristics, namely education level, land area, and length of time in farming are not statistically independent. %Z Penunjang kebutuhan petani salah satunya disokong oleh koperasi. Tahun 2023, Jumlah koperasi di Kecamatan Walantaka tercatat sebanyak 28 unit. Namun hanya tiga unit koperasi saja yang aktif dengan bentuk koperasi simpan pinjam. Hal ini menandakan hilangnya daya dukung kelembagaan pertanian berbentuk koperasi pada wilayah tersebut. Keadaan ini merupakan kesempatan dilakukan penelitian yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui (1) persepsi petani padi terhadap koperasi sebagai lembaga pertanian dan (2) perbedaan persepsi petani terhadap koperasi berdasarkan karakteristik terpilih mereka (Studi Kasus Kecamatan Walantaka, Kota Serang – Banten). Metode penelitian menggunakan deskriptif kuantitatif yang dianalisis menggunakan uji chi-square. Data primer dikumpulkan menggunakan kuesioner dengan jumlah sampel 295 responden yang dipilih menggunakan simple random sampling. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa koperasi dipersepsi sebagai kelembagaan pertanian yang baik oleh lebih banyak responden walaupun masih cukup banyak responden dengan persepsi yang kurang baik. Perbedaan selisih yang tipis menunjukan bahwa hasil penelitian didominasi persepsi baik, walaupun belum cukup kuat untuk menjamin keberhasilan koperasi tanpa adanya intervensi sosialisasi dan pendampingan. Sementara itu, hasil analisis uji chi-square menunjukkan bahwa persepsi petani padi terhadap koperasi berdasarkan tiga karakteristik yang dipilih yaitu tingkat pendidikan, luas lahan, dan lama berusahatani tidak bebas secara statistik.
