Superelasticity adalah kemampuan material untuk mengalami deformasi regangan yang cukup besar akibat pembebanan mekanik dan kemudian kembali ke bentuk semula secara spontan setelah beban dilepaskan tanpa memerlukan proses pemanasan eksternal. Mekanisme ini terjadi akibat transformasi fasa reversibel antara austenit dan martensit yang dipicu oleh tegangan, sehingga memungkinkan material menyerap serta melepaskan energi secara efektif. Keunggulan tersebut menjadikan SMA banyak dikembangkan dalam berbagai aplikasi rekayasa, terutama pada bidang konstruksi dan mitigasi bencana. Salah satu aplikasi potensialnya adalah sebagai damper pada sistem redaman gempa, karena kemampuannya dalam meningkatkan kapasitas disipasi energi dan ketahanan struktur terhadap beban dinamis berulang. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh variasi prestrain sebesar 2%, 4%, dan 6% serta jumlah siklus pembebanan 1x, 4x, dan 6x terhadap perubahan struktur mikro dan nilai superelasticity pada SMA Fe-Mn-Si-Ni-Cr-C. Proses manufaktur yang digunakan meliputi peleburan, homogenisasi, hot rolling, dan solution treatment guna memperoleh struktur awal yang homogen.
