The positive impact of sand mining can create jobs for the surrounding community, while the negative impact can cause land degradation and result in unequal distribution of resource benefits. This study uses John Rawls's theory of distributive justice (1971) as its analysis and theoretical review. This study aims to examine distributive justice in the Batukuda Village community. This study uses a case study method with a qualitative approach. The formal object of this study is the theory of distributive justice, while the material object is the problems arising from environmental injustice. The results and discussion of this study indicate that distributive justice has not yet been realized in the Batukuda Village community. Consequently, the Batukuda Village community experiences conflict between the upper-class community structure, the mining sector, and the lower-class community structure, the community most impacted by the sand mining. This study concludes that the distributive justice achieved by the Batukuda Village community meets the standards of fulfilling the principles of equal freedom and equality. The principle of equal freedom has not succeeded in maintaining private property rights, namely the retention of land and buildings owned by the Batukuda Village community. The principle of equality is illustrated by the lack of compensation received by affected communities, leading those most affected to pursue livelihood strategies by seeking opportunities from the sand mine, such as collecting fees from passing trucks or becoming road sweepers. The Batukuda Village government's role is limited to mediating between the sand mine and the community. This study recommends that the Batukuda Village community initiate a collective movement to achieve distributive justice. date: 2026-02-27 type: Thesis type: NonPeerReviewed format: text language: id identifier: https://eprints.untirta.ac.id/58836/1/Iin%20Arofah_2290210004_FULLTEXT.pdf format: text language: en identifier: https://eprints.untirta.ac.id/58836/2/Iin%20Arofah_2290210004_CP.pdf format: text language: en identifier: https://eprints.untirta.ac.id/58836/3/Iin%20Arofah_2290210004_01.pdf format: text language: en identifier: https://eprints.untirta.ac.id/58836/4/Iin%20Arofah_2290210004_02.pdf format: text language: en identifier: https://eprints.untirta.ac.id/58836/5/Iin%20Arofah_2290210004_03.pdf format: text language: en identifier: https://eprints.untirta.ac.id/58836/6/Iin%20Arofah_2290210004_04.pdf format: text language: en identifier: https://eprints.untirta.ac.id/58836/7/Iin%20Arofah_2290210004_05.pdf format: text language: en identifier: https://eprints.untirta.ac.id/58836/8/Iin%20Arofah_2290210004_REF.pdf format: text language: en identifier: https://eprints.untirta.ac.id/58836/9/Iin%20Arofah_2290210004_LAMP.pdf identifier: AROFAH, IIN (2026) KEADILAN DISTRIBUTIF MASYARAKAT DESA BATUKUDA (STUDI KASUS INDUSTRI TAMBANG PASIR).
