Keberhasilan proses AAL dipengaruhi oleh beberapa parameter operasi, terutama waktu pelindian dan rasio padat–cair (S/L). Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui pengaruh waktu pelindian dan rasio padat–cair terhadap proses Atmospheric Acid Leaching, serta menentukan kondisi optimum yang mampu menghasilkan persen ekstraksi nikel ≥ 80% dari bijih nikel laterit asal Konawe. Penelitian ini diawali dengan karakterisasi bahan baku menggunakan X-Ray Fluorescence (XRF) untuk mengetahui komposisi awal bijih nikel laterit. Proses AAL dilakukan menggunakan larutan asam sulfat 5 M pada kondisi temperatur 90°C, kecepatan pengadukan 400 rpm, dan ukuran partikel −100#. Variabel penelitian yang digunakan meliputi waktu pelindian (2, 4, dan 6 jam) serta rasio padat–cair (5%, 10%, dan 15%). Filtrat hasil pelindian dianalisis menggunakan Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy (AAS) untuk menentukan konsentrasi nikel, sedangkan residu dianalisis menggunakan XRF. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa waktu pelindian dan rasio padat–cair berpengaruh terhadap persen ekstraksi nikel. Persen ekstraksi nikel meningkat seiring bertambahnya waktu pelindian hingga mencapai kondisi optimum pada 4 jam, kemudian cenderung menurun pada waktu 6 jam. Selain itu, rasio padat–cair yang lebih rendah memberikan persen ekstraksi yang lebih tinggi dibandingkan rasio yang lebih besar. Persen ekstraksi nikel tertinggi diperoleh pada kombinasi waktu pelindian 4 jam dan rasio padat–cair 5%, dengan nilai ekstraksi lebih dari 80%, yaitu 92,30%. abstract: Laterite nickel ore is the main source of nickel, which is widely utilized through hydrometallurgical processes, one of which is Atmospheric Acid Leaching (AAL). The success of the AAL process is influenced by several operational parameters, especially leaching time and solid-liquid ratio (S/L). Therefore, this study was conducted to determine the effect of leaching time and solid-liquid ratio on the Atmospheric Acid Leaching process, as well as to determine the optimum conditions capable of producing nickel extraction percentage ≥ 80% from laterite nickel ore from Konawe. This study began with the characterization of raw materials using X-Ray Fluorescence (XRF) to determine the initial composition of laterite nickel ore. The AAL process was carried out using a 5 M sulfuric acid solution at a temperature of 90°C, a stirring speed of 400 rpm, and a particle size of -100#. The research variables used included leaching time (2, 4, and 6 hours) and solid-liquid ratio (5%, 10%, and 15%). The leaching filtrate was analyzed using Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy (AAS) to determine the nickel concentration, while the residue was analyzed using XRF. The results showed that leaching time and solid-liquid ratio affected the nickel extraction percentage. The nickel extraction percentage increased with increasing leaching time until it reached an optimum condition at 4 hours, then tended to decrease at 6 hours. In addition, a lower solid-liquid ratio provided a higher extraction percentage than a larger ratio.
