description: Food safety is determined by cleanliness and the implementation of hygiene and sanitation practices that meet standards, so it is necessary to increase the knowledge of food handlers, one of which is through educational innovation. Interactive video media through the Edpuzzle platform can be an interesting method to increase the knowledge of food handlers. This study aims to determine the effect of hygiene and sanitation education, as well as the effectiveness of educational media on improving the knowledge of food handlers at the Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa University Canteen. This study used a quasi-experimental design with a non-equivalent control group design, and total sampling technique on  53 food handlers in the Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa University Canteen. Data collection was conducted using questionnaires and analyzed using the Wilcoxon test, Paired T-test, and Mann-Whitney test. The results showed that hygiene and sanitation education using conventional video media and interactive video media had an effect on increasing hygiene and sanitation knowledge among food handlers at the Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa University Canteen (p-value < 0.05). In addition, there were differences in the effectiveness of educational media in improving food handlers' knowledge, with the experimental group that received education through interactive videos proving more effective than the control group that received education through conventional videos. Based on these research results, it is recommended that universities adopt this method as part of their mandatory annual training program on hygiene and sanitation for food handlers.
