"Indonesia has entered the phase of an aging population since 2021, resulting in an increased demand for dental implant materials that are safe and compatible with the mechanical properties of human dental bone tissue. The moist and nutrient-rich oral cavity is a major trigger for bacterial growth, such as Streptococcus mutans, which often causes caries, gingivitis, and peri-implamantitis. Commercial Ti-6Al-4V alloys have a high elastic modulus (100 – 110 GPa) compared to human teeth (12 – 20 GPa), which can cause stress shielding in implants. The also contain Al and V, which cause toxicity effects in long-term dental implant use. Based on these issues, research was conducted to develop a Ti-25Nb-5Fe-xCu (x = 0, 2, 3, 4) alloy using the powder metallurgy method with varying sintering temperatures (1200°C, 1250°C, 1300°C). The samples were prepared by grinding using #80 - #3000 grit sandpaper, polishing using a colloidal silica solution, and etching using a kroll’s reagent solution. The sample analysis process was carried out using SEM-EDS, XRD, density, Vickers hardness, elastic modulus, yield strength, and optical microscopy. Based on the characterization results, it was found that increasing the Cu composition and sintering temperature could strengthen the stabilization of the β-Ti phase. The microstructure of the alloy became more homogeneous, porosity decreased, and grain size increased at high sintering temperatures due to the optimal diffusion process. The addition of Cu can increase corrosion resistance and show good antibacterial activity for dental implant applications. Based on the overall results, the Ti-25Nb-5Fe-4Cu alloy with a sintering temperature of 1300°C is an alloy that produces a dominant β-Ti phase, high relative density, and has significant corrosion resistance and antibacterial properties for use as dental implants."^^ .
