note: Latar belakang: Kinerja perawat merupakan salah satu faktor penting dalam menjamin mutu pelayanan kesehatan dan keselamatan pasien di rumah sakit. Kinerja yang optimal tidak hanya bergantung pada keterampilan klinis, tetapi juga pada efektivitas komunikasi antarperawat. Salah satu permasalahan yang sering muncul adalah kesalahan komunikasi saat handover yang dapat mengakibatkan informasi tidak tersampaikan secara lengkap, sehingga menurunkan kualitas asuhan keperawatan. Penerapan metode komunikasi SBAR (Situation, Background, Assessment, Recommendation) bertujuan untuk menciptakan sistem komunikasi yang lebih terstruktur, jelas, dan efisien agar proses serah terima berjalan optimal. Tujuan: Mengetahui hubungan antara komunikasi SBAR dengan kinerja perawat dalam melaksanakan asuhan keperawatan di Rumah Sakit Umum Daerah Banten. Metode: Penelitian ini menggunakan desain deskriptif korelasional dengan pendekatan cross sectional dan pengumpulan data melalui kuesioner. Jumalah sampel pada penelitian ini adalah 127 responden. Hasil: Sebagian responden melakukan komunikasi SBAR dengan baik (84,3%) dan memiliki kinerja yang baik (91,3%). Hasil uji menunjukkan adanya hubungan signifikan antara komunikasi SBAR terhadap kinerja perawat dalam melaksanakan asuhan keperawatan (p =0,001). Simpulan: Komunikasi SBAR terbukti berperan langsung dalam meningkatkan kinerja perawat, sehingga semakin efektif komunikasi yang dilakukan maka semakin optimal pula kinerja perawat dalam memberikan pelayanan.

abstract: Background: Nurse performance is an essential factor in ensuring the quality of
healthcare services and patient safety in hospitals. Optimal performance depends
not only on clinical skills but also on effective communication among nurses.
Communication errors during handover often lead to incomplete information
transfer, which may reduce the quality of nursing care. The SBAR communication
method (Situation, Background, Assessment, Recommendation) is designed to
provide a structured, clear, and efficient framework to enhance information delivery
and support effective teamwork during handover. Purpose: To determine the
relationship between SBAR communication and nurse performance in
implementing nursing care in the Banten Regional General Hospital. Method: This
study employed a descriptive correlational design with a cross-sectional approach
and used questionnaires for data collection. The number of samples in this study
was 127 respondents. Results: Most respondents performed SBAR communication
well (84.3%) and demonstrated good performance (91.3%). The statistical test
showed a significant relationship between SBAR communication and nurses’
performance in providing nursing care (p = 0,001).
Conclusion: SBAR communication has been proven to play a direct role in
improving nurses performance, the more effective the communication, the more
optimal the nursing care provided.
