This study aims to examine the impact of prolonged smartphone use on students' posture. This study used a questionnaire method to assess musculoskeletal complaints by recording the duration, activities, and evaluation positions of abnormal postures from 41 Smartaxo postures that had already been scored using the Rapid Upper Limb Assessment (RULA) and followed by the Nordic Body Map (NBM) method to determine the level of pain felt by students. The results of this study show that the duration of smartphone use per day among students in the Faculty of Engineering, Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa University, Semester 7, Department of Mechanical Engineering, was 11.3 hours, which was higher than that of Semester 1, Department of Electrical Engineering, which was 10.5 hours, with gaming as the activity. At the Faculty of Engineering, Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa University, the results showed that first-semester students majoring in Electrical Engineering had the highest percentage of abnormal posture in the Plie1 position at 86%. Meanwhile, seventh-semester students majoring in Mechanical Engineering had the highest percentage of abnormal posture in the Plie2 position at 72%. The appropriate improvement design proposal for students with high RULA scores is to apply an upright body position, a neutral neck position, and hands parallel to the body. date: 2026-01-19 date_type: published pages: 156 institution: Fakultas Teknik Universitas Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa department: TEKNIK INDUSTRI thesis_type: sarjana thesis_name: sarjana citation: ISMAYA, FARAH NADIRA (2026) USULAN PERBAIKAN POSTUR JANGGAL MENGGUNAKAN TAKSONOMI POSTUR SMARTAXO PENGGUNAAN SMARTPHONE BERDURASI PANJANG MAHASISWA FAKULTAS TEKNIK.
