High schools description: School chemistry learning is not only centered on theory, but it also requires the application of the theory that has been studied, namely by conducting experiments that are closely related to the surrounding environment. The type of learning that takes place in the laboratory is called a practicum. Therefore, it is necessary to implement practicum instruction media in schools so that students can practice skills in solving problems in their environment. The purpose of this study is to determine the differences before and after the implementation of environmentally-based practicum instruction media using the PBL learning model to improve students' learning outcomes on the topic of reaction rates. This type of research is a quantitative pre-experimental study with a pretest-posttest one group design. The sample used in this study consisted of 35 students from class XI-Chemical Analysis 2 at SMKN 2 Kota Tangerang, selected using purposive sampling techniques. This study involved several types of measurement tools, including teaching modules and test questions. The research data obtained were analyzed descriptively using Microsoft Excel and inferentially using validity tests, reliability tests, normality tests, and paired sample t-tests to test the hypothesis using IBM SPSS Statistics 27. The research conducted successfully demonstrated a difference before and after the implementation of environment-based laboratory instruction media on the reaction rate topic, with a significance value (2-tailed) in the hypothesis test of 0.000. In addition, a difference in the average percentage of test answers of 33% was also obtained.
