"The purpose of this research was to investigate the influence of the PLEASE strategy on eighth-grade students' writing skills in recount texts at SMPN 13 Kota Serang. This research used a quantitative method with a quasi-experimental design. The researcher selected class VIII-A as the experimental group, with 42 students and class VIII-E as the control group, with 40 students. Data were gathered via writing tests, which consisted of both a pre-test and a post-test. The results revealed that the experimental group had an average post-test score of 80.05, while the control group had an average score of 74.12. A two-tailed significance value (p) of 0.002 was less than 0.05 according to the Independent T-test. The alternative hypothesis (Ha) was accepted, while the null hypothesis (H0) was rejected. Thus, the PLEASE strategy assisted students in planning, arranging, and minimising their workload, which had a major influence on their writing skills.
