The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of teachers' communicative approaches and school strategies for preventing juvenile delinquency at MAN 2 Serang City.
This research method used a qualitative case study. Data were obtained through a series of observations, interviews, and documentation. The validity of the data was then tested using source and technique triangulation. The analysis technique adopted the Miles & Huberman model, starting with data collection, reduction, and presentation, which culminated in drawing conclusions. The theory used was the communicative approach theory proposed by Jürgen Habermas. The informants for this study were teachers at MAN 2 and students who had and had not committed delinquent acts.
Based on field findings, researchers have shown that the sociology teacher's communicative approach as a strategy for preventing juvenile delinquency at MAN 2 Serang City has been operating within rational boundaries, particularly in terms of truth (data-based/point-based) and accuracy (religious norms-based). Through this communicative approach, teachers can identify the factors that cause students to engage in juvenile delinquency and provide advice and counsel to prevent reoffending.
