Digital artwork isoften plagiarized and commercialized illegally, thus harming artists in the digital era. Based on Law Number 28 of 2014 concerning Copyright, this violates the economic and moral rights of creators. This study aims to determine the legal protection of digital artwork creators for plagiarism and to determine the legal responsibility for plagiarism of digital artwork on social media based on Law Number 28 of 2014 concerning Copyright. The theory of this research is the theory of legal protection and the theory of legal responsibility. The method used is normative juridical with a conceptual and statutory approach. The data sources used are secondary data sources of primary data. Data collection techniques are in the form of literature studies and field studies. In addition, the study uses qualitative descriptive analysis to describe the phenomenon of Plagiarism of digital artworks on social media. The results of the study show that although Law Number 28 of 2014 provides legal protection for the copyright of digital artworks on social media against plagiarism, its implementation still faces various challenges. Instagram has provided a mechanism for removing content that violates copyright, but Plagiarism Perpetrators still easily copy and distribute works. In addition, legal responsibility is needed due to the vulnerability of plagiarism of digital artworks on social media. Thus, cooperation is needed between the government, copyright owners, and digital platforms to ensure strict sanctions for violators to prevent the increasingly widespread practice of Plagiarism.K Law (General)2026UNIVERSITAS;HUKUMThesis
