	bibo:abstract "Sexual abuse against children does not only occur in the real world but also takes \r\nplace through social media, where perpetrators approach victims through \r\npersuasion and deception so that the victims feel comfortable and develop trust. By \r\ngaining the confidence of children, perpetrators are able to persuade them to \r\ncomply with their wishes, such as sending nude photographs via instant messaging \r\napplications or engaging in video calls. When victims refuse to continue sending \r\nsuch images, perpetrators may threaten to disseminate the previously obtained \r\nimages on social media. This research examines the role of the police in providing \r\nlegal protection for child victims of sexual abuse through social media, known as \r\nchild cyber grooming, as well as the forms of legal protection afforded to these \r\nvictims. The theories applied in this study are crime prevention theory and legal \r\nprotection theory, using a normative juridical research method with statutory and \r\ncase approaches. The data sources consist of secondary data supported by \r\ninterview results as additional data, and the data collection techniques include \r\nliterature study and interviews. The findings indicate that the police implement \r\npreventive measures such as cyber patrols, requests for the takedown of \r\npornographic content, and public awareness campaigns, alongside repressive \r\nmeasures through investigation and prosecution to protect child victims of sexual \r\nabuse through social media. However, legal protection remains inadequate due to \r\nthe limited availability of cyber experts, the failure to safeguard the confidentiality \r\nof children’s identities in court decisions, and the lack of cooperation between the \r\nWomen and Children Protection Unit and the Cyber Unit or Ditressiber in \r\nproviding victim assistance."^^xsd:string;
