However, many business or investment mechanisms are \r\nsubsequently carried out illegally and in violation of the law. One such illegal \r\nactivity is known as a pyramid scheme. The term “pyramid scheme” is explicitly \r\nregulated in Law Number 7 of 2014 on Trade and is also implicitly reflected in \r\nLaw Number 8 of 1999 on Consumer Protection, particularly Article 1 paragraph \r\n(1). The phenomenon of investment fraud within society often disguises itself as \r\nlegitimate investment transactions, including pyramid schemes. Based on this \r\nbackground, the research problems are identified as follows: (1) how legal \r\nprotection for pyramid scheme investors is regulated under Law Number 8 of \r\n1999 on Consumer Protection in conjunction with Law Number 7 of 2014 on \r\nTrade; and (2) how the legal remedies available to investors and the liability of \r\ninvestment companies for losses suffered by pyramid scheme investors are \r\nregulated under Law Number 8 of 1999 on Consumer Protection in conjunction \r\nwith Law Number 7 of 2014 on Trade.The theories applied in this study are the \r\ntheory of legal protection and the theory of legal liability. This research employs a \r\nnormative juridical method through statutory, conceptual, and case approaches. \r\nThe data used consist of secondary data, supported by primary data. The results \r\nof the study indicate that PT Bandung Eco Sinergi Teknologi has not fully \r\nimplemented consumer protection principles, as pyramid scheme promotional \r\npatterns are still identified and investors’ legal efforts to access out-of-court \r\ndispute resolution institutions remain weak, indicating the need for strengthening \r\nlegal protection to make it more effective. Furthermore, the implementation of \r\nsuch liability has not yet guaranteed investors’ rights to compensation, \r\ntransparency, and legal protection."^^xsd:string;
