The problem background was based on the importance of tolerance in Indonesia's multicultural society and the strategic position of formal education, particularly the subject of Sociology, as a medium for character building that enables students to appreciate and respond positively to diversity. By understanding Sociology's contribution to this process, this research was expected to formulate effective learning strategies for internalizing tolerance values in the school environment. This study adopted a qualitative approach with a descriptive design. Data collection was conducted through source triangulation, namely in-depth interviews with the Sociology teacher and student representatives, participant observation of classroom learning activities, and analysis of planning and implementation documents. Data validity was ensured through source, method, and technique triangulation. The data analysis technique was the interactive model of Miles and Huberman, which included data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing stages. The results showed that Sociology learning played an effective role in two aspects: first, building students' cognitive understanding of social diversity and potential conflict through the delivery of materials related to stratification, conflict, and social integration; second, promoting social tolerance practices through group discussion methods, simulations, and case study analysis. The connection between relevant sociological material and interactive learning methods proved successful in motivating students to internalize multicultural values, which implied fostering mutual respect and active involvement in inclusive social interaction.
