description: Plankton are aquatic microscopic organisms and have a very important role in   the ecosystem. One of the waters in Banten with potential plankton biodiversity is   Pontang sub-district, but currently experiencing a lot of pollution due to human   activities. This study aims to assess the plankton community in the marine waters   of Pontang sub-district. This study was conducted at three water stations, which   are used by residents to catch fish with different methods, namely fishing waters   using the bagan method, fishing waters using the net method and fishing waters   using the fishing rod method. Sampling time was conducted for one day in the   morning, afternoon and evening. The results showed that the plankton community   consisted of phytoplankton and zooplankton. Phytoplankton found consisted of 12   genera from the diatom class and 5 genera from the dinoflagellate class, with the   most abundant species being Chaetoceros sp. (40.88%). Zooplankton found   consisted of 7 classes of holoplankton and 5 classes of meroplankton, with Acartia   sp. (26.77%). The diversity index obtained from all stations has a moderate level   of diversity (1.54). Plankton uniformity index is at high uniformity (0.73).   Plankton dominance index level value is in the low dominance category (0.29),   The sea conditions in Pontang subdistrict are classified as slightly polluted with a   saprobity value of (0.66), In addition to plankton data, this study also produced a   video storyboard that can be used by future researchers to create educational   videos.
