Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis peran keluarga dalam membangun perilaku asertif sebagai upaya pencegahan kenakalan remaja di Perumahan Mustika Tigaraksa RW 07 dan RW 08, Kabupaten Tangerang. Pendekatan yang digunakan adalah kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara mendalam dengan 11 orang tua dan 12 remaja, serta observasi lapangan. Fokus penelitian meliputi: (1) peran keluarga dalam membentuk perilaku asertif remaja; (2) faktor pendukung dan penghambat peran keluarga; dan (3) hasil perilaku asertif melalui fungsi keluarga sebagai strategi pencegahan kenakalan remaja. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa keluarga berperan krusial melalui fungsi pendidikan, rekreasi, perlindungan, dan keagamaan dalam membentuk keterampilan asertif remaja, seperti kemampuan menyampaikan pendapat, berkomunikasi terbuka, menolak ajakan negatif, meminta bantuan, dan mengekspresikan perasaan secara sehat. Faktor pendukung utama adalah pola asuh demokratis, komunikasi yang hangat, dan dukungan emosional. Sementara itu, faktor penghambat meliputi pengaruh lingkungan sosial negatif, tekanan teman sebaya, pola asuh otoriter, dan kurangnya waktu interaksi keluarga. Temuan ini menegaskan bahwa optimalisasi fungsi keluarga berperan signifikan dalam memperkuat karakter dan keterampilan sosial remaja sehingga mampu mencegah perilaku menyimpang. Penelitian ini memberikan implikasi bahwa upaya pencegahan kenakalan remaja perlu melibatkan peran aktif keluarga melalui pengasuhan berbasis komunikasi dua arah, penanaman nilai moral, dan pembentukan iklim emosional yang aman di rumah. This study aims to analyze the role of the family in developing assertive behavior as an effort to prevent juvenile delinquency in Mustika Tigaraksa Housing RW 07 and RW 08, Tangerang Regency. A qualitative approach with a descriptive method was employed. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with 11 parents and 12 adolescents, as well as field observations. The focus of the research includes: (1) the role of the family in shaping adolescents’ assertive behavior; (2) supporting and inhibiting factors influencing the family’s role; and (3) the outcomes of assertive behavior developed through family functions as a strategy for preventing juvenile delinquency. The findings reveal that the family plays a crucial role through four main functions educational, recreational, protective, and religious in developing adolescents’ assertive skills. These include the ability to express opinions, engage in open communication, refuse negative invitations politely, seek help when needed, and express emotions in a healthy manner. Supporting factors comprise a democratic parenting style, warm two-way communication, and strong emotional support. Meanwhile, inhibiting factors include negative social environments, peer pressure, authoritarian parenting styles, and limited family interaction time. The study highlights that optimizing family functions significantly contributes to strengthening adolescents’ character and social skills, enabling them to resist deviant behaviors. These findings imply that juvenile delinquency prevention efforts must involve active family participation through democratic parenting, value-based guidance, and the establishment of a safe emotional climate at home.
