description: Seagrasses are higher plants (Magnoliophyta) that can adapt to live submerged in  shallow seas. This research aims to determine the diversity of seagrasses on the  coast of Merak Island, Banten Province, with the implication of it becoming a  source of material for the concept of biodiversity. The study was conducted from  September 2024 to June 2025. Sampling was carried out using the quadrat transect  method, drawing a straight line from the beach using 100x100cm quadrats.  Sampling locations were selected using purposive sampling, Depending on the  presence of seagrasses in the research area. Parameters measured included pH,  temperature, DO meter, salinity, and substrate.The results of this study found two  types of seagrass: Enhalus acoroides and Thalassia hemprichii. The seagrass  diversity index value was categorized as low: station 1: 0,281, station 2: 0,27,  station 3: 0,24 and station 4: 0,21. A low diversity index indicates few seagrass  species in the area. The findings of this research can be used as a source of material  for the concept of biodiversity in Phase E, Grade X of senior high school.
