Transportasi Jakarta has officially set a policy in October 2022, namely that passengers are required to attach their e-money cards to the entry and exit card taping machine, hereinafter referred to as tap in and tap out, when boarding the Transjakarta bus. One of the problems complained about by Transjakarta bus service users is the reduction in their electronic money balance which is deducted more than once during the entry and exit card taping machine transaction (tap in and tap out). Identification of problems in this thesis research How is the legal protection for consumers using Transjakarta bus transportation services who experience losses due to the deduction of their electronic money (e-money) balance more than once in the tap in and tap out system based on Law Number 8 of 1999 concerning Consumer Protection and What form of responsibility is carried out by PT. Transportasi Jakarta towards users of Transjakarta bus transportation services with losses due to the tap in and tap out system. The theories used in this study are the theory of legal protection and the theory of responsibility. The research method used is the normative legal method and empirical legal method with qualitative descriptive research specifications, data sources are obtained using primary data and secondary data with data collection techniques in the form of reviewing library materials and interviews. The results of the study are that consumer protection has been strictly regulated by Law Number 8 of 1999 concerning Consumer Protection. Consumers have lost their rights in accordance with Article 4 reinforced by Article 4 letters (a), (b), (c), (d) and (h). The responsibility of PT.
