description: This study aims to examine the implementation of local content subject pencak silat in enhancing cultural literacy among elementary school students at SDN Banjarsari 5. Using a qualitative approach with a descriptive method, data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation involving coaches, classroom teachers, and students. The findings reveal that pencak silat serves not only as a physical activity but also as a medium for internalizing local cultural values such as responsibility, sportsmanship, respect, and patriotism. The learning process was carried out contextually with well-prepared planning, collaboration between teachers and coaches, and the use of culture-based instructional media. The implementation of this local content has proven effective in shaping students’ character and strengthening their cultural identity, while also promoting meaningful participation in the learning process. The study recommends teacher training, facility support, and policy reinforcement to ensure sustainable and widespread cultural-based education.
