These methods were complemented by strategies such as test-taking skills, test-wiseness skills, and the additional strategies (practice tests, vocabulary building, and grammar points). Adaptive strategies tailored lessons to student needs individually, while interactive activities fostered collaboration and engagement. The findings highlight the pivotal role of teacher cognition in underlying the teacher's decision when choosing the instructional models to be used in class. These cognitive dimensions informed a cohesive instructional approach, balancing structure, flexibility, and students-centred learning. The study indicates that effective IELTS listening preparation requires integrative pedagogical practices that combine explicit test-related strategies with adaptive and interactive elements.
