It refers to a condition where an area is inundated by a large volume of water. The Gerem River, located in Grogol District, Cilegon City, functions as a water drainage channel for the surrounding area. Based on the flood hazard zoning map of Cilegon City, this river is classified as having a medium flood risk. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the flood discharge and the capacity of the Gerem River using HEC-RAS 6.5. The research utilizes rainfall data from two rainfall stations, namely the Cilegon and Cinangka stations, collected from 2015 to 2024. The planned flood discharge was calculated using the Rational Method, Der Weduwen Method, Nakayasu Synthetic Unit Hydrograph and GAMA-1 Synthetic Unit Hydrograph for return periods of Q2, Q5, Q10, Q25, and Q50. The results show that the flood discharge for Q50 using the Nakayasu method reaches 79.83 m³/s. The flood modeling was conducted using HEC-RAS 6.5 with an unsteady flow scenario, and the results indicate that the Gerem River's capacity is insufficient to accommodate Q2 and Q50 discharges, resulting in inundation in Rawa Arum and Gerem Subdistricts.
