This condition shows that the law is not responsive, does not accomodate the needs of the community, namely patients with certain diseases who need drugs with medical marijuana content to cure their diseases. The purpose of the study was: what is the urgency of medical marijuana regulation for the healing of epilepsy in Indonesia and how the mechanism of decriminalization of the ideal norm for the use of medical marijuana for the healing of patients with epilepsy in Indonesia. The research method used is normative legal research with statute approach and conceptual approach. Results of the research ; first: the urgency of the use of cannabis for medical purposes in accordance with the 2020 United Nation Commission on Narcotic Drugs (CND) voting decision which recommends the cannabis plant to be used for medical treatment for the fulfillment of health rights and patient rights. in legal practice in the United States, Australia and Thailand have made regulations on the legalization of the use of medical marijuana for medical purposes. Second: the decriminalization mechanism moves marijuana from Group I to Group II so that marijuana can be used for research and healing of epilepsy.
