%O Penelitian ini dilaksanakan atas dasar pentingnya penguasaan kemampuan berpikir kritis dalam proses pembelajaran matematika. Namun, kenyataannya menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa masih tergolong rendah. Salah satu penyebabnya adalah penerapan model pembelajaran yang kurang sesuai. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan pendekatan pembelajaran yang mampu mendorong peningkatan kemampuan tersebut. Salah satu alternatif yang diyakini efektif adalah model Project Based Learning. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji pencapaian dan peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa yang memperoleh model Project Based Learning dibandingkan dengan siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran konvensional. Penelitian dilaksanakan di MTs Negeri 2 Pandeglang pada tahun ajaran 2024/2025 dengan menggunakan metode kuasi eksperimen dan desain penelitian the nonequivalent pre-test post-test control group design. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan purposive sampling, sedangkan instrumen penelitian berupa tes kemampuan berpikir kritis. However, the reality shows that students' critical thinking skills are still relatively low. One of the reasons is the application of a learning model that is not suitable. Therefore, a learning approach is needed that is able to encourage the improvement of these abilities. One of the alternatives that is believed to be effective is the Project Based Learning model. This study aims to examine the achievement and improvement of critical thinking skills of students who obtain the Project Based Learning model compared to students who obtain conventional learning. The research was carried out at MTs Negeri 2 Pandeglang in the 2024/2025 school year using the quasi-experimental method and the nonequivalent pre-test post-test control group design. The sampling technique uses purposive sampling, while the research instrument is a critical thinking ability test. The results of the study revealed that: 1) the achievement of critical thinking skills of students who obtained the Project Based Learning model was better than students who obtained the conventional learning model, and 2) the improvement of critical thinking skills of students who obtained the Project Based Learning model was better than students who obtained the conventional learning model. %I UNIVERSITAS SULTAN AGENG TIRTAYASA
