However, the reality shows that students' critical thinking skills are still relatively low. One of the reasons is the application of a learning model that is not suitable. Therefore, a learning approach is needed that is able to encourage the improvement of these abilities. One of the alternatives that is believed to be effective is the Project Based Learning model. This study aims to examine the achievement and improvement of critical thinking skills of students who obtain the Project Based Learning model compared to students who obtain conventional learning. The research was carried out at MTs Negeri 2 Pandeglang in the 2024/2025 school year using the quasi-experimental method and the nonequivalent pre-test post-test control group design. The sampling technique uses purposive sampling, while the research instrument is a critical thinking ability test.
