The method used in this study is the qualitative method. The qualitative method is one of the research procedures that obtains descriptive data results in the form of written or spoken words from people or behavior that can be observed holistically. The data collection technique used by the researcher in this study is the technique of listening, recording and documentation of the results obtained in the form of sentence fragments or quotes from the novel Ancika: Dia yang Bersamaku Tahun 1995 by Pidi Baiq and documentation in the form of images from the film Ancika: Dia yang Bersamaku 1995 by director Benni Setiawan. The triangulation technique in this study uses sources and investigators. The results of the study obtained 65 data in the form of 21 shrinkage data, 17 expansion data and 27 varied changes. Based on the results of the study, the most data found were varied changes. So, it can be concluded that there are shrinkage, expansion and varied changes in characters, plots and settings caused by factors of film duration, use of settings and limited funding. A scene or story changes because the director and writer have their own ideas in creating the work.
