PADA BUDIDAYA HIDROPONIK SISTEM IRIGASI TETES creator: Raida, Khansa Larasati subject: S Agriculture (General) description: This research aims to evaluate the level of variability, uniformity, and high heritability value through observations of yield traits and yield components in 20 melon lines (Cucumis melo L.) cultivated using a drip irrigation hydroponic system. The design used in this research was randomized block design (RBD) with three replications, involving 20 treatments consisting of 20 different lines (G1-G20). The result showed that the 20 melon lines have a level of genetic diversity. In quantitative characters, wide genetic variability was found in flowering age, internode length, male flower crown length and width, female flower crown width, and fruit flesh thickness. In contrast, narrow genetic variability was found in harvest age, stem diameter, leaf size, female flower crown length, fruit weight and size, number of seeds per fruit, and sugar content. All parameters showed wide phenotypic variability. Dendrogram analysis showed that there was uniformity of character appearance in most strains. The highest similarity value reached 81.20% between G16 and G17. In qualitative characters, the uniformity of appearance is found in 143B stem color and 7A/7C flower color. Most of the observed characters showed high heritability values, indicating a strong genetic influence and great potential for improvement through the selection process. The character with the highest heritability value was stem diameter, which amounted to 2.90.
