High schools description: The context in which the researcher conducted this study is the existence of obstacles in education such as: (1) There are still many junior high school students who experience difficulties in learning. (2) Lack of parental responsibility in accompanying their children's learning. (3) The emergence of competition between parents of students in choosing the best LBB for alternative children's education. (4) LBB is organized as a business field to meet the demands of consumers or parents, not to achieve educational goals. (5) Registering children to LBB for some parents has become a lifestyle as a form of prestige from parents. From these problems, the researcher conducted this research with the objectives, (1) To find out what motivates parents in registering their children to tutoring institutions in Tangerang City. (2) To find out what are the reasons for parents of children in choosing Tutoring Institutions in Tangerang City. (3) To find out if children's learning difficulties are helped by participating in additional learning activities carried out at the Tutoring Institution. The researcher uses a combined method or mixed methods with a survey method and a descriptive method. The data sources in this study are several parents whose children are registered in LBB Nurul Fikri Perumnas II, Ganesha Operation Unit Beringin, and Maestro Karawaci. The data collection technique in this study was carried out using survey questionnaire methods, interviews, and documentation studies. The conclusion of this study is that the motivation of parents to enroll their children in LBB is because parents want their children's achievements to increase. The reason parents choose a particular LBB is seen from the quality of teaching and the competence of the tutors. Changes experienced by children after participating in LBB, children experience an increase in understanding of subject matter after participating in LBB.
