description: This study aims to evaluate the implementation of Smart City in the Smart  Environment aspect through the Co-firing program in Cilegon City. The Co-firing  program is a program to replace some coal with fuel made from garbage or waste,  such as RDF (Refuse-Derived Fuel). This helps achieve sustainable development  goals and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. The approach used is qualitative with  the intrinsic case study method used in this thesis. The results of the study indicate  that the Co-firing program needs to be started immediately in Cilegon City because  of the large amount of market and household waste. The waste is caused by the  large number of immigrants from outside Cilegon City who are looking for a use in  this city. On the other hand, there are still problems with the input side, such as not  having enough RDF raw materials and not having enough facilities to process  waste. In terms of process, there is not enough coordination between institutions  and community involvement. In terms of results, the benefits of the program can be  seen, although they are still limited. To help this program succeed, the researcher  suggests that the government do more to make it easier for larger RDF factories to  obtain permits, involve the private sector in corporate social responsibility (CSR),  and educate more people about the importance of sorting waste. The joint burning  program should be a real step towards creating smarter and more environmentally  friendly cities because it brings together groups that work well together.
