The auxiliary system is a system in a power plant that functions to generate electricity, part of the electricity generated is not sold, but is used by the plant itself for generating electricity, in contrast to consumer loads that are sent to the transmission line. The auxiliary system is susceptible to disturbances that can hinder the electricity production process, ETAP or Electrical Transient Analyzer is a software that able to do load flow analysis, load flow analysis is a procedure used in the power system model under certain conditions to calculate important parameters to analyze the operation of a system. The auxiliary system of unit 1 UBP Suralaya consists of several equipment such as a 400MW generator that functions to provide a source to the system, two transformers, namely the Unit Service Transformer that functions to reduce the voltage nominal from the generator to the load busbar, the Station Service Transformer that functions to provide the initial source. One endeavor to increase the reliability of the electric power system is to apply a bus coupler that connects to another generation unit. This study concluded that the auxiliary system of unit 1 UBP Suralaya experienced disruption in its operation, namely overload on the transformer used, UST or SST, therefore that it is necessary to do uprating or increase specifications. And the use of bus coupler is considered impossible before the transformer and circuit breaker are uprated.
