"Tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) is a freshwater species that has strategic value in\r\nsupporting national food security, particularly through intensive aquaculture\r\nactivities. In the context of stock estimation and population growth projections,\r\nprecise standard length (SL) data is essential as the basis for biological analysis.\r\nUnfortunately, conventional approaches to fish length measurement often yield\r\nbiased data due to the limitations of manual techniques. This study aims to\r\nexamine the strength of the relationship between truss-based morphometric\r\ncharacteristics and standard length in Nile tilapia, as well as to develop a relevant\r\nand applicable predictive model for closed biofloc aquaculture systems. The\r\nresearch was conducted in March 2025 at the Aquaculture Laboratory of Sultan\r\nAgeng Tirtayasa University, using an experimental method with a total of 30\r\nrandomly selected fish individuals measured based on 21 truss parameters through\r\nthree repetitions. Simple and multivariate linear regression analyses were applied\r\nto assess the contribution of each truss character to standard length, with model\r\nvalidation using Root Mean Square Error (RMSE) values. The study results\r\nshowed that the D4, D3, and C5 characteristics of the posterior body section had a\r\nhighly significant relationship with standard length, with R² values of 0.8645,\r\n0.8544, and 0.8583, respectively. Meanwhile, the multivariate model with the D\r\ncharacter group showed the best predictive performance, with the highest R² value\r\nof 0.9026 and the lowest RMSE of 2.0154 mm, confirming the importance of the\r\nposterior body structure in linear fish growth. This model is non-invasive, making\r\nit highly suitable for implementation in automated and sustainable fish stock\r\nmonitoring, as well as for seed selection based on morphometric indicators. The\r\nimplications of this study suggest that truss morphometrics can serve as a reliable\r\npredictive tool in precision aquaculture systems; however, further studies are\r\nrecommended to integrate genetic and environmental factors to refine the\r\nresulting model."^^ .
