Therefore, a solution to improve students' critical thinking skills is to implement the Problem-Based Learning model. This study was conducted at SMPN 1 Petir during the 2024/2025 academic year, second semester, with the aim of determining whether there is a difference and improvement in the critical thinking skills of students who receive the Problem-Based Learning model compared to the conventional learning model. The method used in this study was quantitative research with a nonequivalent pretest-posttest control group design. The population in this study was ninth-grade students at SMPN 1 Petir in the 2024/2025 academic year. The research sample consisted of two classes: IX E as the experimental class and IX F as the control class. The research instrument consisted of a critical thinking ability test.
