Latar belakang penelitian ini berangkat dari keprihatinan terhadap memudarnya penggunaan bahasa daerah di kalangan siswa sekolah dasar, yang berdampak pada rendahnya minat dan kemampuan dalam berbahasa daerah. Pendekatan kontekstual dipilih karena dianggap mampu mengaitkan materi pelajaran dengan pengalaman nyata siswa, sehingga pembelajaran menjadi lebih bermakna dan relevan. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Subjek penelitian terdiri dari guru Bahasa Daerah kelas IV, kepala sekolah, dan siswa. Teknik analisis data menggunakan model interaktif Miles dan Huberman yang meliputi reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perencanaan pembelajaran bahasa daerah dengan pendekatan kontekstual dilakukan secara matang melalui pemilihan materi yang dekat dengan kehidupan siswa, penyusunan indikator pembelajaran yang relevan, dan penggunaan media pembelajaran berbasis budaya lokal. Proses pembelajaran berlangsung aktif melalui pendekatan kontekstual, yang mendorong partisipasi dan keterlibatan emosional siswa. Hasil pembelajaran menunjukkan adanya pemahaman, serta keterampilan berbahasa Daerah siswa, baik secara lisan maupun tulisan. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan penggunaan pendekatan kontekstual sebagai strategi pembelajaran yang efektif untuk memperkuat pelestarian bahasa daerah dan membentuk rasa bangga terhadap identitas budaya lokal di lingkungan sekolah dasar. abstract: This study aims to describe the implementation of a contextual teaching approach in local language (Daerahnese) instruction for fourth-grade students at SDN 02 Tigaraksa. The background of the research stems from concerns over the diminishing use of regional languages among elementary students, which affects their interest and proficiency in using their local language. The contextual approach was selected as it is believed to link lesson content with students’ real- life experiences, making learning more meaningful and relevant. This research employed a descriptive qualitative method with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The research subjects included the fourth-grade local language teacher, the school principal, and students. Data analysis followed the interactive model by Miles and Huberman, involving data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings revealed that the planning of local language instruction using a contextual approach was thoroughly developed through the selection of materials connected to students' daily lives, formulation of relevant learning indicators, and the use of culturally grounded teaching media. The teaching process was actively carried out using group discussions and role- play methods, fostering student engagement and emotional involvement. Learning outcomes showed an improvement in students' motivation, understanding, and ability to communicate in Daerahnese, both orally and in writing.
