The contextual\r\napproach was selected as it is believed to link lesson content with students’ real-\r\nlife experiences, making learning more meaningful and relevant. This research\r\nemployed a descriptive qualitative method with data collected through observation,\r\ninterviews, and documentation. The research subjects included the fourth-grade\r\nlocal language teacher, the school principal, and students. Data analysis followed\r\nthe interactive model by Miles and Huberman, involving data reduction, data\r\ndisplay, and conclusion drawing. The findings revealed that the planning of local\r\nlanguage instruction using a contextual approach was thoroughly developed\r\nthrough the selection of materials connected to students' daily lives, formulation of\r\nrelevant learning indicators, and the use of culturally grounded teaching media.\r\nThe teaching process was actively carried out using group discussions and role-\r\nplay methods, fostering student engagement and emotional involvement. Learning\r\noutcomes showed an improvement in students' motivation, understanding, and\r\nability to communicate in Daerahnese, both orally and in writing. This study\r\nrecommends the use of contextual approaches as an effective learning strategy to\r\nsupport the preservation of local languages and instill pride in cultural identity\r\nwithin elementary school environments."^^<http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema#string> .
